“Zero Food Wastage” is an initiative that aims to end the wastage of food and provides an opportunity to the community to share food with the hungry, instead of simply throwing it away.
The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that more than 40 per cent of food produced is wasted in India, costing US $14 billion (INR 1,019,858,000,000.00) every year.
It is quite common to find wastage of food at Indian weddings and parties. To reduce this wastage, we reach venues and locations to pick up the extra food and distribute it to the needy. We ensure that the food is fresh and edible before distribution.
In the last five years, the collection of 3500 kgs has been distributed to 730,000 underprivileged persons.
