Our flagship program for environmental conservation and protection is the making of eco-bricks.
While our cleanliness drives help to keep the city clean, the waste is segregated and the PET plastic bottles are used to make eco-bricks. The disposed plastic bags and plastic wrappers we collect, are utilised into filling these plastic bottles to make eco-bricks.
These eco-bricks are then used to construct various structures- ornamental and purposeful, around the community. This has long term benefits for the environment as well as the community.
Eco-bricks are very sturdy and can easily replace conventional materials of construction. It not only helps save expenditure on construction materials but reduces the usage of materials which can be damaging to the environment. Creatively used, they make good benches, chabutaras and compound fencing.
BDF has been invited to prominent private schools to demonstrate to their students how to make eco-bricks, both in online and off line spaces.
